CES 2016: NVIDIA has introduced the Drive PX supercomputer 2 for vehicles-drones

NVIDIA introduced at CES 2016, which runs from 6 to 9 January in Las Vegas new powerful solution for unmanned vehicles. NVIDIA Drive PX 2 is positioned as the world’s first car supercomputer.

The platform uses two Tegra processor “next generation” and discrete graphics on the Pascal architecture. According to the manufacturer, provides all this performance in 24 trillion operations deep learning in second and 150 laptops equivalent to MacBook Pro. In addition, it is ten times more than previous generation Drive PX, presented at last year’s CES. Platform power up to 250 watts for cooling NVIDIA expects to use the liquid system.

2 NVIDIA Drive PX is able to handle the video coming from video cameras 12, and the signal from the radar and ultrasonic sensors. This will allow to accurately identify objects, identify them and calculate the best route for a safe trip. The platform will be available in the fourth quarter of 2016. The first partner was the company Volvo.
