Mazda RX-01: forgotten concept (1995)

Twenty years ago. We write era MX-5 and RX-7. Mazda came up with a special concept called the RX-01.

The Japanese car manufacturer showed a concept at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1995. The red cars had to be the next generation RX-7 proposals. Fortunately(?) was the concept never into production and remained the famous RX-7 name saved.

Mazda spooned the well known 1.3 litre rotary engine in the concept, that was good for 220 hp. The Japanese placed the block behind the front axle for perfect weight distribution.
