After the California T, the 488 GTB is a real possibility to have to set it on fire to fly.

After Ferrari a few days ago announced 185 California T’s back to pick up, is there now in America, a “stop sale order” issued for the 488 GTB. Problems with a leaky fuel line can make sure that the car is on fire flies. You guessed it, that is exactly the problem that the California T seems to have.

It is remarkable that Ferrari in the recall of the klapdak Ferrari reported that only 185 of the California T’s was and that the problems were caused by a supplier that a bad batch of parts had shipped. Now, however, the sales activities of the 488 GTB, it seems the problem is something bigger than originally thought.

In the United States are still no 488 GTB’s shipped to the customer. An official statement that was issued reads as follows:

“Ferrari S. p.A. informed Ferrari North America, Inc. (FNA) of the possible defect on the low pressure fuel line connection or the fuel pump provided by Ferrari’s supplier Dytech – Dynamic Fluid Technologies S. p.A. on 11/17/15. Ferrari S. p.A. has informed FNA that during a routine pressure check for Assembly Line Testing on 11/04/15, they found a small air leak on the above described pipe connection. On 11/05/15 Ferrari S. p.A. extended their testing to evaluate vehicles that had been produced with the same batch or low pressure fuel lines. On 11/17/15 Ferrari S. p.A. concluded the investigatory testing and determined that the fuel vapor leak was a safety defect.

With regard to the Ferrari 488 vehicles, on or about December 10, 2016 Ferrari determined that affected vehicles had left our control bound for various Ferrari dealers. We have notified our dealer network with a “Stop Sale” Notice informing them that this recall must be performed before the affected vehicles are sold to customers. It is important to note that no un-remedied Ferrari 488 vehicles have been sold to the public.”

Now the question is only whether that statement only holds for the United States, or for the world. In Europe, there now a lot 488 GTB’s around, and even some 488 Spiders even. What are the consequences for the owners of these cars are and whether this is at all the problem with the leaking fuel line, is not known.

Of course, we have a clarification to be asked from the people of Ferrari, the Netherlands. Unfortunately, it could be that their Italian colleagues had not yet reached, it may be that they are already at the oliobolla’s sitting there. As soon as we have a reaction received we will post those under this post. If you read this and think “I have a 488 GTB, and know more” than we hear it, of course, also like.

UPDATE 12:10
The sales in the Netherlands is in any case not stopped reports Ferrari the Netherlands. The Italians still unreachable.
