A collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin is already a fact, but the rumors that Mercedes, the British car manufacturer want to completely have swelling.

Aston Martin is a beautiful brand, that invariably the wenslijstjes of many a petrolhead populated. However, it is also a small mark in a growing world. Where each luxefabrikant a large group behind, AM after the release of Ford largely only harvest. Not a great starting point, with a total annual sales of about 4,000 cars.

A few months ago it was announced that Mercedes-Benz they are going to help with motorleveranties. The same Mercedes-Benz hustle Maybach a few years ago a pillow over the head (sort of..), so you could say that there place is a new jewel in the crown.

Mercedes is busy doing all sorts of non-autogerelateerde activities to divest. Sold parent company Daimler its not inconsiderable share in Airbus, and last week it sold its 50% stake in Rolls-Royce Power Systems. Both sales earned the company billions, money that is fine can be used to Aston Martin is relatively young, isn’t it?

Recently got ex-Ducati owner Investindustrial in the company, which is valued at around 1 billion euros. Other owners are Kuwaiti Investment Dar and a few individual parties. Also, Daimler has a small percentage of the automaker in the hands.

Now the question is: if Mercedes they are already going to help with engines and electrical systems, then why not bigger think? That is, if Aston Martin (Lagonda) to fit falls within the 4 platforms in the future strategy. The British press, there is in any case already warm, but Daimler itself holds the jaws together.

Would it do well to the British automaker of the market? Or is the current co-operation provisionally as sufficient and does the German concern to the coming period on your own business focus?
