This error code the Protocol in the HTTP standard for blocked sites.

An organization called the IETF (nternet Engineering Task Force, Engineering Council) finally approved the inclusion of code to the HTTP sites, blocked at the request of the authorities of any region or holders.

This was announced by mark Nottingham (Mark Nottingham), Chairman of the IEFT. Speaking code 451 has been approved by the group IESG (Internet Engineering Steering Group), which is responsible for engineering standardization of the Internet and directs the activities of the entire IETF.

Recall that the Engineering Council is a non-profit organization since 1986 and involved in the development of protocols and architecture of the Internet. The number “451” is a reference to the cult novel “451 degrees Fahrenheit” by ray Bradbury.

Initially, the “451” code as the http response to censored pages proposed by Google employee Tim Brey, known, for example, as an XML developer. Http response codes starting with four are used for error messages.
