In 2010, Audi with the A1. A new, smaller model in the premium segment under the Audi A3.

In 2012 followed the Sportback, a five-door variant of the A1. For the real petrolheads came the Audi A1 Quattro will be available. As the name indicates, this four-wheel drive and 256 horsepower from a tweeliter turboblok. The bad news is that there are only 333 copies are built and the price considerably. Prices starting around 11,000 euros, the most expensive is a sloppy 60 mille. It is a limited edition built A1 quattro. The most range is around 15,000 euros.

Issues

  • The control of the water pump of the petrol engines can fail. The engine is running hot, driving is very harmful, stop immediately!
  • In the 1.2 TSI to construction year 2012 could be the timing chain stretch, what the first is noticing noise at the cold start. Repair is expensive, but necessary since a faulty timing chain to serious engine damage can result.
  • Another problem with the 1.2 TSI is that one of the spark plug doorslijt, leaving the engine on three cylinders.
  • The DSG box (dual-clutch automatic transmission) must be absolutely smooth and seamless shifting.
    The semi-automatic S-Tronic, similar to the DSG of Volkswagen, internal closure, which makes the fuse break. The automatic transmission will not be more, but unfortunately, that is impossible on the spot to fix it. The A1 should then transport.
  • Sticky ruitrubbers can be there for early A1’s for sure that the windows are not open.
