The compact Jaguar had appearance far away from the much larger XJ. Jaguar sold eventually, quite a lot of X-types, although the expectations even higher tense.
Thirteen in the dozen, the X-type certainly not and that is both the strength and the weakness of Jaguar’s smallest. When the X-type came on the market, there was much criticism of the fact that this was based on the Ford Mondeo. Yet in the exterior and interior of almost nothing to the Mondeo recalls, so the criticism is not justified.
In 2003, the first diesel and in 2004 there was also a station of the X-type.
Offer used cars
- On AutoScout24 are 120 copies of the second-hand Jaguar X-type.
- Less than 14% has a diesel engine.
- More than a third have an automatic gearbox.
- Approximately half of the supply, the stronger V6 versions.

Issues
- Fuel economy of the 2.5 and 3.0 V6, because it’s all-wheel drive.
- The automatic gearbox of ZF is not the most reliable. Replace the fluid and release the bowl rinse. This may have incipient problems to solve and/ or avoid.
- All of the oil regularly-oil change is a good idea, so also that of the engine and the transfer box of all-wheel drive.
- The transfer box is a weak point, they can leak and without oil it is quickly past.
- Dual-mass flywheels are specifically for the 2.2 diesel, there is no eternal life.
- The front tires of the versions with all-wheel drive wear out regularly skews off.
- With the V6 and wanted the lower clamp of the radiator let go.
- Electrical problems can also arise, among other things with the key. Test all buttons in the interior and of the key!
