Finally: BMW i8 gets a thick (Alpina) V8

Such a souped-up three-cylinder bonenmaler (231 hp) is a technological masterpiece, don’t get us wrong, but in a supercar hear just a thick achtpitter.

When the German Gabura Racing Technologies random BMW fanboys on the internet the question ‘do we want more or fewer cylinders in the i8‘, chanted this in unison ” more! more! more!‘. Well, then they go about that.

Alpina 4.4 V8

The project is still in its infancy, but the plan is to get a 4.4 liter V8 from a M6 to scoop up, this by Alpina to re-energize, and then, in a i8 transplant. The power would be around 800 hp should come true, which it is not clear whether the electric powertrain immolated, or that this is a combined power.

We are most certainly curious how to GRT a rather large V8 in the back of an i8 would fit. Perhaps they can be absolutely useless rear seat out of work. (source: GRT Facebook, via Carscoops)
