Dakar 2015 is ready, here is the general classification

The 2 weeks of Dakar sitting on it, the 420 starters took this year 216 the finish line. Large Dutch surprises were in the cars, but let the trucks and the engines are not forgotten.

Trucks

‘The netherlands, truckersland’. That goes in the Dakar in each case. We are each year, too, represented in the vrachtwagenklasse, culminating in the title of Gerard de Rooij in 2012. This year, however, we have not, and Dakar, senegal Sovjetfeestje.

The entire podium is Russian, a great performance by the men in their Kamaz trucks. Thanks to an excellent eindschot we are ultimately still 3 times represented in the top 10, with Hans Stacey as the best Dutchman in sixth place. Stacey picked up yesterday by the way the stage win.

Engines

Since 2005, winners of only 2 men the motorklassement, Cyril Despres and Marc Coma divided the overall mutual. This year was no change, because Coma snatched just like last year, the victory road. Cars

The succescategorie of the Netherlands this year. Yesterday, shone we all take the 4th and 7th place of van Loon and Ten Brinke, now the entire top 10. Did you know that navigator Tom Colsoul in 2012, with the winning Gerard de Rooy in the truck was sitting?

An honorable mention finally for Tom Coronel. Plagued by setbacks, did this go-getter (in contrast to brother Tim) eventually – on his gums – the finish line, probably still with a big grin on the face, Tom knew.
